Hey everyone,

Just fired up a few days ago after cleaning the chimney. It seems that after operating fine for a day or so, it stopped dropping pellets when the thermostat calls for the stove to turn on. Any idea what to tackle first?

The stove is only a year old and I had a Mt Vernon insert for several years at my old house.

Thanks!

Does the red call light come on? If not, bad thermostat wires or connections on stove or tstat. Make sure you have fuel in hopper. Use a flashlight and a mirror and look up drop chute to make sure there is no blockage. Jump vac switch wires together. If stove starts working, you either have blockage in exhaust path way, door isn't sealing, or bad switch or bad wire connections. Also newer Quad stoves all have a auger shut off switch that shuts feed off if hopper door is open. Start with these issues. Let us know how it goes. kap

Yep- that red light is coming on. I have not emptied out the hopper yet to check to see if there are any issues there. I will do that when I get home tonight and then check the other issues after that. Seems like it should be a quick fix- thanks for the advice. I will circle back later.

You shouldn't have to empty the hopper. Just hold a mirror in pot and shine flashlight into it and look up drop chute. Since red call light is coming on, does exhaust fan turn on?

A fan comes on- I assume that is the exhaust fan that starts up immediately? No luck otherwise. Might call a tech since it is under warranty.

Yes, that is the exhaust fan. Did you try jumping wires together from vac switch? And yes, since still under warranty, I would be calling store too. kap

Check your vacuum switch / tube....make sure its not plugged up...maybe try bypassing it for a test
