As long as it's just clear wood I don't see why not.

pallet wood works awesome for kindling. Real hot and boosts your stove temp quickly.

For kindling yes, but with some caution from Woodstock:

Never Build a Roaring Fire in a Cold Stove! It takes at least 45 minutes to fully heat up the soapstone mass of the Fireview Stove. Any attempt to hurry this process and generate extremely high heat quickly could result in damage to the cast-iron or to the soapstone. Your patience will be rewarded with hours of ‘stored’ warmth.

I get some nice scrap wood from the local hardware store. It's crate wood from their lawn and garden tractors that come in. Oak too!

I refuse to burn pallet wood in my cat stove all due to fears of cat damage. My reasons:

1) nails and staples have zinc galvanization on them which will poison the cat.
2) The wood is often treated with chemicals to keep insects away, mold away, rot away, and fire away. Those chemicals might poison the cat not unlike treated lumber. The brown color of treated lumber is not a result of the treatment, it's for the customer.
3) The stuff stored and spilled on a pallet during transit or storage. Who knows what was spilled on them.

Not worth the risk of cat destruction or reduced cat function. Just take your axe and split down a chunk until it is small enough.

I burn the heck out of pallet scraps in my non-cat.
