less than a bag so far had a few days of cooler weather .. quite warm now but by Sunday will be chilly again

Hot here this morning, but chilly a few nights/mornings over the past 2 weeks or so. I have all my pellets for the year in house and am a happy camper. Hell, I will likely top off the oil tank just for the hell of it as prices continue to drop. I still use oil for DHW.

same here re: the oil still have 1/2 a tank since I put the agp insert in in April.. only 3 of us here so not teremendous HW use and several years ago (3 or 4) I installed a Honeywell AQ200 series controller for the furnace and a new 40 gal stone lined indirect DHW tank... even with the polar vortex last year I only used about 3 tanks of oil .... BUT... kept the house at 65 when home .. this year I will be far toastier with the pellet stove running

I wanted to run the AC today, muggy and warm, but has been put away for the season. Was not going to move the beast back up from the basement, my back can only take 2 trips per year.

Three bags since the end of September. Probably be a total of 7 before Halloween. Going to dip in temp the end of the weekend and then jump back up for next week.

about a bag so far this year......oil down to $2.79/gal over here..at what point do we unplug the pellet stove and switch to oil????

I got 150 gallons a couple of weeks ago for $3.29 and now I see oil for $2.99  That gives me 3/4 of a tank and will last until this time next year, primarily for hot water. Good question though, as much as I hate the thought, when does it become cheaper to burn oil?

The break even point is different for everyone. Persoanlly, Ive cut 600 gallons of oil consumption per year and burn 3 1/2 tons of pellets. As soon as 3 1/2 tons of pellets cost more than 600 gallons of oil, it will be more economical to burn oil.

I have burned about half a bag of pellets so far, we have had nights in the high fifties for quite a while, so I haven't run the stove at night.

I recently pressed up the oil tank, it took 160 gallons, a far cry from the 600 gallons I used to burn in a season. I burned three tons of pellets last year.

7bags so far.have been looking for excuses to break it in

How many pellets are you burning per day right now, state your stove/boiler and how many

Harman Pb105 Boiler
1 bag a day
Using for heat and hot water
6 bags for two stoves since Sept. 7th

Maybe 2 bags of pellet and half dozen wood stove burns thus far. No oil except for hot water.

Day 5 with the stove off. Stove will be on tomorrow for sure with forecasted temperatures in the low 30s.

None yet

I'm half way through my 4th bag here in PA. I'm using the stove for primary heat. I'm out of oil and don't intend on getting more than 100 gallons in the near future for hot water preheat into the electric hot water heater. This will be my first year with the stove. One ton in the garage and another ton waiting for me to pick up. Last year I spent almost $4000 on oil so my savings should be substantial. Super pleased with the results so far.

Ive so far burned 10 bags. Since i started keeping track im averaging a little over half a bag a day I heat my hot water with it as well/
That's pretty good for a boiler. My baseboards have been turning on at night and I heat my hot water with it too. I'm probably using about the same amount.

As of today I have burned 9 bags. Bring on the cold!

None yet not cold enough.

Maybe 1/2-bag. Got home last night from a week in Florida, it was 64F in the house so I ran it for a couple of hours, plus a few hours before we left. Far away the latest in the year we've been able to avoid firing up the boiler for the season.

I just opened my second bag today. The house doesn't need it, and won't for some more time, but I just *need* to use the thing! ==c
