Unburned pellets in the ash pan - M55

Does anyone else end up with a few unburned small pellets in the ash pan after a few days of burning? Is this normal? I would say probably about a small handful is all.
 
Never had any. On the Harman you adjust the feed rate, and allows for a complete burn of all the pellets even with variation in burn characteristics.
 
I only get a few unburned pellets on start up usually. Just like the Harman you can adjust the feed rate. You are better off making sure your draft is set right using a gage
 
Thanks. I believe that this is a characteristic of any drop style system where a few small ones during startup may simply bounce out. My Insert is set with a mag to 16.

I have an M55 and I get some unburned pellets probably after startup. Nothing big. I don't pay attention to it. The stove is so awesome it doesn't matter to me.
 
My Maxx-M (same burn setup) gets a noticeable amount of fly-bys. I keep eying the gap between the burn pot and the baffle and am thinking either a metal strip or some screen should reduce it some.

Get a few in an MVAE every cleaning. Seems to happen from auto cleanings, which that stove does.
 
I get a few in my Maxx at start up. Also some small pieces bounce out every now and then. Just enjoy the heat an let it burn.
 
I've noticed pellets falling out of the burn pot when I first start up my M55 cast. I set the heat range to 2 and it stops.

X2 never had any unburned pellets in my harman either

You can also get an adjustable augur cover from Enviro but really just enjoy the stove! Bill
