According to the install manual, 0.5" hearth height (asterisk), but I have a flush hearth? Should the hearth extender in the pic from my last stove cover me for this install? Cement in basement slopes to 3" exposed joist at the front of the 2x10 in the basement.

At some point I would like to do something from <these guys>, but probably not before install this year if possible.

Are those 1' tiles on it?

Also I've always wondered why they call the i2400 flush. She sticks out like 8" and another 4" ish with the blower.

The half inch thickness is less important than the R value requirement. If your hearth extension is a type 2 then it should suffice. Do you remember the maker and brand of the hearth extension?
