New Harman owner seeking advice on setting feed adjuster, temperature dial and mode selector with either hardwood and softwood pellets to get the most heat output. Thanks

I run my Harman Advance Feed set on 4 Temp. set on 70 Deg. And mode Is on room temp. 95 % of the time
I burn soft wood pellets most of the time and don't see any difference with the hard wood. You paid big bux for a stove with a brain. Use It and enjoy.

The only reason I adjust the feed rate has to do with pellet size. Obviously the stove has no idea what size pellets you are using, so the auger cranks at a preset interval, depending on the setting. With longer pellets, each crank of the auger delivers fewer pellets than it does if uniformly short pellets (my preference) are in the hopper. FSUs were nice and short the past 2 years; this year Heat'rs are almost as short and uniform.

I lower my feed rate with shorter pellets because when there are too many pellets in the burn pot they are pushed over the edge unburned. At a lower feed rate [about 2 1/2 on my Harman] they burn sweet and clean.

The Harman will regulate based on your temperature setting in Room Mode giving
you the most efficient burn. It monitors the temperature of the room and of the exhaust.
The rest is based on your preference ;-)
