Hi Board,

I am looking to install a Rika Intergra II into my home as my wife loves the look if it (modern) and I love the fact that it comes with a 7-day programmable option. However, I have had no lock finding anyone that carries it and/or installs it. Each vendor keeps pushing what they have in their store, Regency, Harman, etc..which are great but do not have the features we like..

Does anyone on the forum know where I can find a distributor/installer in the NY/NJ area. I live 20 miles north of NYC.

Also, maybe you know of another pellet stove inserts company that offers the option of 7-day programmable.

Any information will be greatly appreciated

This might not be much help but...

Go here:
http://luckydist.com/Heat/manufacturers.cqs?class=heat

Click on the RIKA logo
Once there you'll see a Heating The Way - Locate Dealer' logo on the right.
Click on it and see if you have any luck.

I clicked on NY state and got the following;

I learned a great deal from this forum and decided on a Rika Integrta II FS based on opinions here. I bought it from ebay and I am very impressed with the sale, free shipping delivered to my house, total cost $2549. I am also impressed with the stove itself, it looks good and it seems to be working just fine although a bit louder than I thought it would be. I think the noise is coming from the combustion (exhaust) fan but it is not that bad. I also like being able to program the unit. I was advised not to install a thermostat to prolong the life of the ignitor. I would not hesitate to make the purchase again!

Thank you to all your input..I do like the Ecotek ones, but I need a Pellet insert and not free standing, which is why I would like to purchase the Rika Integra II..Buying is not an issue as I cna get on EBAY, it is finding an installer. All stores around me do not sell Rika and will not install. I am sure it is because they rather purchase what they carry as well as they do not want to be held responsible for any issues that go wrong.

Can I ask how did you find someone to install it for you or did you hire some chimney sweep expert to install?

I am lucky to have found a member of this forum that is located not very far from me south of Boston. I found him because he wrote many articles in this forum about repairing and trouble shooting Austroflamm stoves. The install was great and made easier by the fact that it was a direct vent install, no chimney inserts etc. I wanted to keep my fireplace as a wood burning fireplace because it is my last resort in case there is an extended power outage. Good luck with your search for an installer!

Chenzo, today might be your lucky day. I'm a former Rockland (New City) resident who also happens to own a Gen1 Integra insert that I installed myself, so I might be able to help. It's really not that hard - if I can do it, so can you. Feel free to PM me and we can figure out how to get you where you need to be.

Lucky is selling the ones on ebay.Just remember they have not imported any for quite some time,so even though it will be new,it will probably be over 4 years old,but not really a problem with a rika. The 7 day setup has been pretty standard in europe for quite some time, they still put it in the newer rika models. It should last you a lifetime if properly maintained.

I don't know the current set you have in your home. But as you want an insert, I assume you have already an existing chimney etc.
so the installation should be straight forward.
Did my installation for the freestanding one in a short period of time.
Installation is not really difficult, one just has to follow certain manufacturers rules.
PM me and I'm more than willing to give you some support.

Congrats on new unit.If you want to upload a clip of the noise someone here can help out.As a general rule the integras are still one of the quietest units ever made, nice if it is in a main area of the house.

Nice information . Was not aware that Lucky Distributing was behind the e bay sales.

Chenzo x 2 on the Integra II Great stove . I have the insert . As long as your roof/chimney is accessible the install is straight forward.

Thanks for your post! This is a brand new Rika Integra II that was just installed recently. I am very happy with the stove except for its noise level. I thought it would be quieter than this, it is not very bad but you can hear the noise coming from the combustion motor. It is whiney noise that never goes away as long as the stove is running. Here is a video of the startup cycle with the combustion fan going and without the convection fan.

It seems my video did not show up in my last post, here is the URL:

That is noisyer than normal, but will still run a long time. You can buy a new motor,or put bearings in old one or call where you bought stove,I think they will send you a motor and gasket free.

Thanks bob bare, I just sent an email to Lucky Distributers about this, hopefully they will respond with a new motor. My experience with them so far has been good and I think they will live up to it!

I guess let me ask another question..attached see the measurements (i hope i measured right)..would a Rika Integra II be able to fit into my fireplace?

By way of a sidebar story that might relate to what you're experiencing, this might help.

A friend of mine related an experience he had after buying a pre-owned BMW motorcycle with 40,000 miles on it. He thought that was somewhat high for a bike, but it was a good deal, so he bought it. After riding it a while, he noticed a 'whistle' coming from the motor and called BMW who put him on the phone with one of their engineers whose name was... Hans... or Lars... whatever. Anyway, the reply was "Ya, don't vorry. Ze motor ist chust getting broken in, und de vistling vill schtop at seventy-sousand miles."

Point being, it's possible the motor just needs to run in. I'm not saying for sure that's what it is, but suggesting it's a possibility. Last year with the guidance of the good folks here on this forum, I bought a 22 year old (circa 1991) AF Integra Gen1 that's still on the original parts, so they build 'em to last - that much is sure.
