Any one notice pellets on Long Island are hard to come by at the big box stores so far this season?!?![/quIt seems as soon as they get them in they`re gone within 24 hours.I stocked up in August after hearing there was going to be a shortage.

I have a little less than a ton in the basement and the big box stores have none! I keep getting the same answer, "they show up when they do", "try in two weeks" and "no clue what brands". I was able to pick up 15 bags of Fireside Ultra a few weeks ago, but that was all HD had left. The bags are dated 8/14 and burn amazing! Though too warm the last few days to lite the stove. I just want two more tons and not sure if it will happen without paying 350+ a ton from a local vendor.

Thank you. I assume you need a membership? I only have one for BJs and not worth getting another membership to another store. I am hit or miss on the Penningtons, I burned them last year.

Does anyone on Long Island know of a retailer on Long Island selling premium pellets? Besides Bravo?

What do you consider premium? I'm new to this so I can only tell you what I found out while I shopped around.

Rella has Energex hardwood - supposed to get a delivery in the next week or two.

Bethlehem Coal has the Forest Pride - don't know much about them except what's on the other thread.

And there's a place in Holbrook (I think) that sells Lignetics.

Not sure what's in stock but I just spoke with Bethlehem today and they have stock.

All ok, pellets, but I mean like okanaokas, la cretes. etc

this year the big box stores can't keep up with the demand for some reason. i think it is a combination of pellet stove popularity, early cold temps, and (some else said this in another thread) trucking is hard to come by because the economy is better and they are carrying other goods.

luckily i have 2 tons from last year and another ton from early in august.

don't know where you are at, but Lowes in Riverhead usually gets premium pellets, though they too have been running out as soon as they get them.
