They are fine. Pellets are short length and give off good heat according to several posts.

I burned a bag the other day, I was actually impressed. Burned great out my Whitfield. Great heat, ash was ok, glass was clean and best of all no build up in the pot!

Just purchased 3 FSUs and 2 Stove Chow at Poughkeepsie HD. Total cost with 5% discount was $23.65 or $4.73 a bag.
How did you get the discount upstateny? I tried using a lowes coupon and a ace hardware coupon but the manager said they don't accept any coupons for pellets 
At least the rumors about NYS charging tax on pellets seem to be false. I did pay tax on the delivery service which makes sense.

If you have an HD credit card and a Lowes Credit card. HD will give you the 5% off that Lowes Credit Cards give you. I do a fair amount of home improvement so the 5% off at both HD and Lowes is worth it.
