Maybe someone could help me because I am new to pellet stoves...... I received a englander 25 Pdv from a family member I have cleaned the entire stove very well throughout installed a new exhaust vent system I am burning tractor supply pellets as I also got 7 bags with the stove..... My problem is the stove burns great for 6 to 7 hrs then seems to pile up with pellets on the burn pot these stove is set to all factory setting but it just gets lazy and I'm not sure why..... Has outside air....I cleaned it again but still keep getting soot after about 7 hrs is the burn pot clogging up with ash??? Should I try other pellets.... Also sorry forgot to mention I did check to door and glass gaskets and they are fine.... I'm lost the only thing I can think of are the pellets can anyone help or have a similar problem???

My first thought is adjustment and as Tim said, the damper comes to mind. But also, generally speaking the Tractor supply pellets have been all hardwood pellets which could be fine, however also not all stoves get along with all hardwood pellets and or need additional attention. The Englander guys in the forum could answer this better for you though. I suspect, yes after 6-7 hours of burning you may need to scrape the pot a bit. Meanwhile there would be no harm in trying some softwood pellets or just another known good brand, a blend perhaps. Eventually someone who knows your brand and model stove will chime in !

Thanks guys for the help..... Yes correct no intake damper to adjust I'm thinking it's the pellets so I'm trying a different brand today to see if it burns any different im hoping the englander guys can help with a good pellet brand to try or burn which they have good success with....other than that I love the stove just the soot and clinkers after 6 or 7 hrs maybe after I get the stove up to full temp I'll have to adjust the low fuel feed a bit??? Seems like it's overloading it or like I said just ask at the bottom of the pan not allowing air to the pellets that arnt fully burnt causing a lazy fire

The trick with this stove and it's smaller sibling (25-PDVC) is the fuel to air mixture using the lower buttons (LBA / LFF) -- but that also depends on the year of the stove, the LBA and LFF can on some of the newer stoves work with all the heat settings and not just 1, 2, 3 (lower heat settings).
Also, the length of your exhaust and how it's routed plays a factor too, over 15 feet (EVL) requires 4" exhaust. You can mix 3" with 4" as well.
My exhaust was over 15ft, so I decided to mix 3" and 4" to give me extra draft for a better burn.
I have 3" pipe out the back of the stove which goes straight out the wall to the outside with a 3" T with a 1 foot 3" straight on the top of the T, from there I have an increaser to go to 4" pipe, this has an extra 6 feet of pipe on top with a 90 bend and end cap.
I also modified my burn pot within the stove, now I can run the stove for 4 - 8 days with no black soot on the glass or inside the stove, just fine grey to white ash inside the stove and on the glass.
I've also added an air intake damper to the OAK to allow me to adjust the airflow manually, this has given me more control over how the pellets burn.

Thanks for sharing. I read the thread and that was really cool being able to solve the sooty flame issue. I had one of these things years ago and got rid of it due to very poor burning as well
as it being a pain to clean. Great job!
Thanks for all the advice guys..... Changed pellets just bought two bags of penningtons at Walmart just to see if there was a difference not that I plan on burning them and even with the low fuel feed at 1 it seemed to be overfilling the burn pot like crazy and the fire in the stove was huge actually a little scary....so I switched back to the tractor supply pellets and it is burning back to the way it was..... I'm new to all of this so I still have some tinkering and figuring out to do
