Wood Roaches?

Do you have any generic spray with you? You can at least get the adults. I have no idea what wood roaches are.

They get up under the bark, but will scatter when you pick the wood up. I bang the splits together sometimes if the bark is loose, and they bail out. If one does happen to make it in the house you can trap it under a jar, scoop it up with a post card and dispose of it outside. In you wife's eyes, this will demonstrate your manliness for catching the terrifying critter, and your compassionate nature for releasing it back into the wild.

Wood roaches are common here. When I lived in Virginia, we had 'em in the wood stacks every year. They're creepy but they don't harm anything nor infest your home. If some get inside when you bring in firewood they won't survive.

I disturbed several of the darn things today; was cutting up tops that had been blown out by a windstorm. They were congregating in the splintered wood.

I'll bring in one or two every winter with firewood and they make their way from the wooded lots next to us every once in a while during the other seasons. Never a problem other than a wife freaking out and cleaning a little harder. I explained the situation to her a million times, but I've given up and just enjoy the extra cleaning she does.

I see them in my wood stacks every year. Never been a problem yet. I'll knock them off the wood as I'm bringing it into the house. Those without the sense to leave find the temperature rising in a hurry.

Ignore them, they're not a problem. They might hang out a while in the stacks but won't infest the house.

Found a em all over some of the hickory I cut up. No where to be found now. They scatter once you buck, split, and stack.

ROACHES, smoke em if ya got em.
