Ok, I did not know that I was in violation of any air flow laws I figured since it is forced air that it will blow rather than draft as my old wood stove did, I actually this past weekend purchased more vent pipe and I will change to an upward venting

Sorry, I was checking something on my stove. You said you measured an intermittant 15V across the vacuum switch?
OK, it's what we were all expecting... the vacuum switch is tripping due to poor airflow. I just measured an intermittent 18V across it with my door wide open... I had assumed it would be a full 120V
so with the sw. bypassed it seemed to run fine I am shutting it down to reconnect the snap disc and fire it back up, is that alright?
THANK YOU VERY, VERY MUCH, I think you might have figured it out and with no cost to me and a lesson learned on air flow, what do you know about programmable thermostats I was told that quadra fire needs a quadra fire thermostat to run properly is this true? I havent had any problems for the past 6 trs but then again the same is or was true with my air flow violations

You have several things happening the exhaust blower could not stand what it was seeing but the end result is always a vacuum error.
Venting into the prevailing wind, the downward venting, the added age of the motor (and likely some ash on the vanes or dust in the motor case and slowed down hot exhaust gasses all come into play.

I'm still using the Quad one, but it is not necessary. There are several members here using programmable t-stats on a Quad. You can start a new thread asking for thermostat recommendations for a QuadraFire stove.

So, I went outside and had a beverage and came back in and the wife said it has been out 20 minutes now, could I now have a bad #2 snap switch, the vent motor was replaced last winter, not the exact three speed but the closest Grainger could match, I dont feel that I am am out of the woods yet,I will be removing and cleaning the everything that I can remove and clean again rather than just vacuuming again, I wish I could bring an air hose into the house but my head of the war department would reeck havock on that one

Do you have a leaf blower/leaf vacuum? If so Search leaf blower trick on Youtube, if she won't let you use a compressor indoors you can use a leaf vacuum outdoors.

About that blower it has to match what was there for airflow CFM at each setting. You have to move the exhaust gases out of the system at the correct rate or over time the temperature in the exhaust system creeps up to the thermal limits on the blower and then the blower shuts down followed by the pellets stopping you have to watch the stove to see the order.
So do I possibly need a new vacuum sw. and maybe a snap disc#2. if so I can order them today after work and do u know of anyone near me that does service on this stove, holland mi.

While it is possible that the vacuum switch is bad and that at one time Quadrafire had a batch of bad ones it isn't very likely and any snap disc can be a problem it normally takes a lot of cycles for them to fail and ash can make a snap disc seem to be bad.
The call is yours you can toss parts at it or you can watch it to find the problem. The choice is yours.
Whatever you do you need to be certain you have a match for those items. Not a close enough for now deal. That vacuum switch is a major safety device as are any high limit or burn back snap discs on that stove.

While we are having so much fun here, just for S & G what is the setting on your thermostat and what is the temperature in the room with the thermostat?
Ok, I have a vacuum switch and a snap switch # 2 on order from amazon,exact same # as in my Q. F. manual, just checked the baffles as that is where S D #2 is located and they are as clean as they are going to get without going at them with a wire brush, I dont understand how the vacuum switch can get any pressure as I can blow thru that hose rather easily, the thing is that with S D #2 bypassed it ran rather well, the onliest other thing I can think of is both blower motors are not original equip. the exhaust blower is the same RPM as original, but the one that blows the heat into the room is only a two speed and not a three speed, again price and availability, i e... when it stops working I cant sit and wait for a new motor so i guess that might be part of my problem too huh
Ha Ha, it is fun, I bypassed the thermo and put a single pole sw. in wondering if the brand spanking new honeywell pogrammable thermo might be the problem and I replaced the L.V. wire also but I can reinstall the thermostat if that would help, please excuse my typing as I have fat finger syndrome and only type with two fingers
