This thing is wonderful. The witch is streaking across the sky on a hot broom singing songs of love. BOO! (sounds better than....#@$%$#..... followed up with, I'm cold) She loves her new convertible broom and Harman pellet stove. How do you dress up as a jerk for her favorite holiday? ........... Yes, I have an OAK and used the Harman thru the wall thimble. Exhaust vent goes out with T turned 45* then runs away to a 45* elbow and up well away from the window and door. I clear everything without issue. I knew this would be questioned by the looks of the photos. I am a contractor and was a local building inspector so I do things according to code. Codes were put into place for a reason. Safety! Thanks for asking. It is good to point things out and bring awareness so people are guided and educated in the right direction.

I also have a very abstract and different type of home. One of a kind and nothing "typical" about it whatsoever. I still have a lot to finish up around here. My stuff usually comes last. I use different materials for unique looks and purposes. Wood, stone, steel, and other primary "natural" materials. No plastics and such of any kind. Everything I use is not man made. Just not my preference and taste.

I can not justify paying the high dollar dealer prices for the very nice but highly over priced pimp trim bling stuff. They offer nice looking trim kits but the price crushes the wallet. Works for some but not me. I have a good friend that owns a welding fabrication shop that has plasma cutters, water jets, etc; I could have a Harman door trim made identical to the factory product for very cheap cost but will not due to trade marks, infringement, etc; Plus I like to come up with one of a kind originals geared for what I like in the metal of my choice. Why pay big money when I can make a custom myself for little to no cash lay out? This also gives me unlimited options for the door trim and ash pan door. This is very low on my priority list currently because I have many other projects and things going on. But I promise that someday this dude will sling some pimp'in bling onto the stove and post photos.

It is actually metal roofing "Classic Rib" or barn siding / metal building siding that I laid horizontally instead of the usual vertical. Has a 40 yr warranty on the paint and that is when installed on a roof. Comes in many colors. Wife thought it would be "Hill-Billy and Tacky." She has coined a term for me Red Neck Chic' (sheik). I think way outside the box. It gets compliments all the time with my bizarre use and combinations of materials. Once it all came together she understood. My home is a timber frame barn like structure up in the woods. I wanted it to fit the part and blend in with the surroundings. I wanted to turn an old barn into a home but couldn't locate one in the right area with the right land deal. So I basically built one incorporating the existing home already here.

I have a lot to keep up with so I try to build my stuff with almost indestructible construction methods and materials. She also fought me on the custom made copper counter tops I did. She loves those also and they turned out well. I also worked in stone, some copper, and cedar shake shingles in areas on the exterior with nice trim details so it's not some huge metal box. Crazy methods and materials and I had to duke it out with her to do it but it turned out well with zero maintenance other than a quick hose or light pressure washing every great once in awhile.

I have exceeded the clearances on my exhaust vent with prevailing winds taken into consideration . Page 15 in the Harman Installation Manual. It goes away from and well above before terminating. Page 15 states: B). Minimum is 12" above window / door w/ OAK 12" to the side and below. This is a two story wall outside so the soffit does not apply and it is more than 24" anyway. There is a concrete patio back there and the termination is above 7 ft. I have more than 12" minimum to an inside corner too. The outside air comes in down low at the T on a 45* spin and nowhere near the exhaust termination. All min. clearances are covered. The last thing I want to do is jeopardize my kids and family. I sometimes squeak stuff, but make sure at least minimums are met. I had enough room with inches to spare, but it did cost me a T, 45*, and more pipe. Plus it now has natural draw during power outages. It is good everyone is taking note and calling me out with good reason. I have zero problem with that. I'd do the same. Yes, I have it plugged into a surge protector too. It's foolish not to have one.

Thanks, Everyone! I'm out of likes! About out of Pro's in the hopper. Still have a ton of those but also want to try out my Set's so when it cools down in the next couple of days I will start some of those. I have only used six bags thus far mainly at night the beast fires up. I opened the bags and they look pretty much identical to the Pro's but looks can be deceiving. I'll likely just go ahead and dump the bag of Set's in here in a few.

House stat reads 72 and it is currently 47 outside with the overnight low of 38 so it will be running real soon. Better check it cause I might have turned it to OFF. Even if I didn't run it tonight the house would be at 68-70 in the AM. Played this game way too long and I know what drops I usually can expect. Wife will be happier if it's 75 or so vs. 68. Big difference to he,r but I could care less. Like I've said, if it was up to me she'd be sitting here in a snow suit on the couch telling me how much she loves me about that time. She's very easy going and laid back with very few complaints so I have to cave in on the house temps in the cool and cold seasons. LOL! I usually run around here in a T, shorts, and flip flops all winter. Go figure.
