You can do a search as there are several posts on these pellets but from what I recall, most were happy with them.

I like FSU's a LOT, great medium-grade pellet. Been buying 15-20 bags at a time. I'll buy a few tons when I have the opportunity.

many, many threads.. in short, one of the best big box store pellets for the past few years in the North East. Make sure they are from the Canadian plant and not PA.

Just testing my Profile edit...please disregard this post!:p

Hey, Hockey and Peter, how do I get the "banner" in my posts, listing my stove, etc? Went to profile settings, but apparently not clever enough to figure it out!;em

easiest way is to click on your name at the top right near the sign in box. Then click "signature". fill in the rest.

I picked up a couple tons of FSU's this year. They burn well and seem to put out a lot of heat, without abnormal amount of ash. I've only gone through 2 or 3 bags and we haven't had really cold weather yet...so, the real test is yet to come.

I picked up 5 bags of FSUs for testing, never burned them before this year. Only used one bag so far, the heat output is terrific, however the ash is some of the worst I have ever seen. One bag left a giant solid black mass of lazy flame inducing ash in the burn pot, and when I scraped it out the mass broke into several large chunks of creosote - just like the ones shown in Spock's Okie Gold Nugget thread. I have burned a lot of pellets and never experienced anything like this before. Hoping it was just a one-off occurrence, maybe because the stove was running on a very low / slow burn for a long time. I will wait until it's much colder to burn the next bag so the stove really has to work and burn hot the whole time. If it happens again, I will have to find a different use for the last 3 bags. Hoping to see much different results though!

I burned only two bags of FSU this year and I even at the lowest burn rate on my Whitfield, I had zero buildup in the pop. I absolutely enjoyed burning them!

Very possible I just got a bad batch...certainly wouldn't be the first time. Time will tell.

Every stove likes different pellets.
