I got my boiler last fall and burned what I had but was not ready with wood at the right length or dried correctly. By February I was burning fresh cut ash and anything dead I could get out from under the snow.

I promised myself I would be in better shape this year but didn’t know how much I would really need. My best guess is that I burned 10 cord of crap last year so I set a goal of 30 cord CSS by the time I fired off the boiler this year.

I lit off the boiler yesterday and went around and measured all my stacks.

I have 31+ cord CSS with quite a bit of red oak on the ground and a huge log of white oak down at a friend’s house 25 miles away.

Still have this red oak to do

Great supply, now do me a favor and keep the child in the play area in the last pic. Safety first ALWAYS.

was driving to ME 2 weeks ago and was appalled at all the trees they were cutting in the median of the interstate in CT. all pretty young 6-8" or so, but would haver made fine stove wood.

Yeah they cut the tree line back a long way along I-395. I think it was to cut back on deer strikes, at least it will give you some time to slow down if they are coming. I probably got 3-4 cord from the highway, most was from tree guys.

I'd say you're all set, nice work!

Looks good, one of the last things we produce everywhere in the good ol USA

feels good, don't it? :) That's A LOT of wood to process in less than a year!!! !!!

I also have 30+ cords c/s/s of mostly oak and black locust, but also some cherry, black walnut and maple. I also have some pine and poplar c/s/s not shown in the photos.

JR, what kind of oil/finish do you have on your home?

Atta Boy! Money in the bank!

And my neighbors give me crap for having about 8-10 cord in my yard...

I use some of it as a fence along the border in the woods. I only have 1 bad neighbor, Most of this wood came from within 500 yards.

30+ cords might put you in the top ten hoarders here. Can't say for sure, but still, double wow. It is amazing how much motivation the sting of running out of wood can give you. Maybe all the effort will give you a cushion to start next year - I sure hope so! Good job and cute kid!
