If it had been an old house in a historic district, they'd have had to wait months for proper permitting to disassemble that chimney. ;)

I'm sure at least one of those firemen suggested just leaving her in there.
 
Wow. That sister has something really wrong in the circuitry; why would anyone in their right mind think a chimney is an easy route to the interior of a house? I can't even feature... do you think the community is going to send her the bill?? (upon reflection, I realize that a lot of people don't realize that a chimney isn't a straight shot down to the fireplace... ). More people should read the forums at Hearth.com!

As for leaving her there... I have a recollection of a similar incident in CA (I think and posted here) where a woman died in a chimney attempting to enter a former boyfriend's home... absolutely chilling!
