Nice! Like Acapulco Gold!
How much per ton to smoke that good stuff?

But how did you end up with 203 bags??

With buying corn on July 8th and a couple tons of pellets on Saturday we hope to be ready for another long cold 8 plus months of winter. Feels good to be ahead of the game. Just need to top off the propain as its down to $1.59/gallon. Haven't filled in three years.

I've had 6 tons of DF's sitting in my basement since April.

There wasn't any pellets available here within hundred miles in April! Have not seen restocking of heating pellets till end of June.

When I got wind that my usual pellet dealer got a load in I immediately called in and bought 6 tons right over the phone. I didn't know if the shortage would continue or how bad it would get so I jumped when the opportunity arose.

I burned a ton and some of those last year from the local pellet house - they were great. On a par with the VTs I've burned for heat, a little lower ash, and a lot cleaner burning in my stove. The only other pellet I've used that was as good all around (now don't scoff) were some Pres-to-logs that showed up at the local HD at the start of the crunch when they ran out of FSUs. These were from the WV plant and from the smell, were oak, black walnut and cherry(!) mixed. From what I've read, those guys have different plants that put out pellets of varying quality, but these things were friggin' dynamite. And of course they showed up here under really unusual circumstances - HD trying to get some inventory into this store no matter what... Probably never see them here again, lol. Kept a ton for the coming season and will supplement with a 1/2 if needed of the Cubex. My volume will be way down with the pellet stove devoted to a small space. Hope the Cubies this year are as good as the ones I had last.

Did Cubex fix the heavy ash issue they had a few years ago?

Getting cubex, Lacrete and North Country delivered on Tuesday. The way this cold summer has been I'll be firing it up end of August.

Man wish I could get it delivered on the pallet.. Would save allot of time restacking.

After you get a chance to burn all three this winter, I would be very interested to get your thoughts on how they stack up to each other.

I know I love the Lacrete already, but if I remember I will compare the three is relation to each other.

3 1/2 ton of DF 1 more ton to go. hopefully the season is done for pellets for me.
Is it normal having your total stock of pellets done in Aug?

I really liked to be stocked in August at the latest, and this year prices are creeping up quickly so an early buy is the way to go if possible...

Prices around here seem to be falling. Figures, I already have most all of what we will need by the end of July this year.

I'm using DF too.

I've had next year's stash sitting in my basement since April.

With oil plummeting and everyone stocking up early, maybe the prices have to fall to keep the product moving. Any type of commodity market is like a pendulum.

I'm still saving a considerable amount of money over heating with oil but the amount of savings is lower this year due to lower oil prices and higher pellet prices.

Have you had a chance to burn any of this year's cubex?

I've burned around ten bags of the cubex. Not very impressed, ashy and tend to fill the burnpot too much during ignition. The pot tends to,overflow with unburned pellets, and needed to turn down the feed rate. Others have come to the conclusion that this is a function of the very short pellet length, and more product fills the auger with each opening of the hopper gate. It also is not all that hot burning, and have found when I switch over to my lacretes I need to move if I stand in front of the stove. Those suckers burn HOT!!! The build up in the burnpot is more thick and harder to scrape than the lacretes which leave a relatively clean pot.
