I recently removed my combustion fan to do a better cleaning of my P38 Harman stove. How important is it to put the fan on the same location of the motor shaft. What is the proper distance from the end of the of the motor shaft?

Look for the mark made by the set screw on the shaft and line up the set screw as close as you can. If memory serves the fan will be about 3 to 4 mm back from the end of the shaft. When installed the fan blades should not be rubbing against the surrounding enclosure.
