No problem. I got busy and didn't have time to call them for a price. Though Home Dopey in Bayshore is selling the same pellets.

Called Bravo today, their price went up to 370 a ton for La Cretes. And even though they come 60 bags to a pallet, they said they only sell the 50 for $370.

??? Huh? Skimming off the top?

The guy was real nice and honest about it. He said we take those 10 bags and put together another ton.

I put my name down for an order, but don't think I may pass. 7 bucks a bag is scary. Haha. I didn't get a delivery quote as I always pick up my pellets. What did they charge?

That 360 or 370 is the going rate for a SKID (60 bags in this instance) of pellets! That's BS the people get "confused" and that's where they are to explain that it comes packed as 60 bags. They are ripping you guys off and blatantly!

There is no quality pellet competition on Long Island. Only box stores. Lowes runs out in a few hours and won't allow you to preorder. So it's Chow from Home Dopey.

So they are charging you $432 per skid for LaCretes. At that price the Chow may be more cost effective for you. Or there's always oil which may currently be cheaper for you to heat with. Try this calculator to see.

I have natural gas. I prefer the pellet stove for many reasons. I have a mixed ton or so currently on hand of mostly chow, but some Fireside Ultra and others. waiting for Home Dopey or Lowe's to get more in. Currently none near me, just checked.

... They said they take the ten off because people get confused?!

You would NOT believe how many people just don't understand that 1.2 ton thing.
Seriously.
Some say.. but your ad says $xxx per ton, why is it not that?
It's 10 bags people... but some are just adamant, they only want a ton.
Even though they will be back several more times...
Hard to figure.

Dan

I have forced air propane which I use in the 'shoulder' period to take off the chill but the pellet stove does so much better for us when the thermometer drops. I will supplement with cheaper pellets depending on the weather.

r there any other retailers on Long island other than Bravo. I'm not talking about box stores.
Not that any brands of note that I know of. Hoping someone else will chime in.
