Feeling the Heat

Only my second season into a pellet stove. I love cleaning it...I love lugging pellet bags. Keeps the body in motion. I love watching the oil trucks drive by. We have enough oil to last 2 more years. I love on a bitter cold day ..I can up the heat for pennies on the dollar ,compared to what oil would cost me. I don't miss the smell of oil in the morning. If the heat isn't throughout the house...where I am, is toasty. I will figure this all out..spread the heat. I will not worry about oil again...signing off...

No reason to knock on wood John go with it it's a great unit always has been. Couple hick ups but you are on your way especially when you get to know your unit in and out.

FYI I SPEAK FOR MYSELF NOT FOR THELIN AS I AM NO LONGER WITH THEM.

Titanmatt, you working on your own as a tech, stove shop, or something else entirely different?

John, still love that compass rose above your stove ... I copied a pic of it so I can hopefully create one in the flooring in my front entrance.

Lake Girl,
How large are you looking to do it? I still have the template I used to cut the slate and set it on and its in color no less. I believe it is 32" and you would be welcome to it. I can get an exact measurement if you would like it. Made life real easy doing it that way. Let me know.

Titan...once all the problems were worked out..I do love the look and heat. What battery would you recommend to put in this unit?

I keep a group 24 deep cycle battery hooked up to my Thelin and have run the stove for up to 4 days on it during power outages.I have no idea how much longer it would have run because we got power back.

ebengel, Will check into it. Brand and any more info would help this old man find what he needs.:)

John Thelin sells a cable kit to hook up to an External Battery. You are gonna need that to hook up to other power. It plugs into the female hookups on the Control Panel. What Enbengal said is right on the money. Remember never to unplug Stove even in the summer or the Battery will not maintain charge. Also make sure switch is set to External Battery

Me thinks me just dumb! Brand or anything along those lines would help. Brand name? Titan...thought the hook up is there..just need to know best battery for it. Looks to me like the cables and space are ready.

Would really appreciate that ... what do you normally use for template material?

John, the battery I got at Walmart, Everlast model 24DC-6, it's a deep cycle marine battery. The cables you can get from a Thelin dealer, for you the closest would be The Hearth Shoppe right in Belvidere.

Thanks ebengel and titan.
Lake Girl , the template is made out of .040 plastic sheet. The compass measures 31". I also have it in a square layout. I will send you both, just need an address.
