Is it hard or soft? Basswood?
 
It is persimmon, I have quite a few on my property.
 
Thanks. I cut some of this last year. A friend said it might be Persimmon. Some of deepest bark I've ever seen. They don't seem to get very big diameter wise. Got 2 of them today. Filled my truck. Filled my trailer with the Hickery and Maple. So it was good day. Sure am tired though. Going back for more tomorrow.
