I did the annual maintenance on my Mt. Vernon AE insert and needed to replace to old style felt combustion blower gasket. My local dealer had the new style (SRV7000-714) but it did not come with instructions. Is there a proper way to install the gasket? How should it be orientated? Basically, I need to know which end is up?
Thanks
John

My number for the new "orange" reusable gasket is 423. Maybe they changed it. Anyway, all it has to do is fit the opening and bolts. Only fits one way. kap

Thanks for the reply kap. The original gasket was round, the new one has flaps. In some stoves the flaps get bolted down and therefor can only be installed one way. My stove does not have the area where the flaps bolt down so it can be installed several ways.

Yes, the new orange one is round, and has flaps on it. Just have to line it up with flaps on stove. So your stove doesn't have an odd shaped opening for the comb. blower to fit in? kap

The opening looks exactly like the attached gasket image.

They changed the opening for the exhaust blower to just round in 2012. The new orange gasket SRV7000-714, fits old and new. Just line up bolt holes and it is good to go. kap

Thanks Kap. That's just what I did.... just wanted to make sure it was right.

Always pays to make sure. They change things faster then I can keep up. Wish they would send us bulletins on this stuff!
