The cedar smells so good - even before burning.. Very fibrous though, usually after splitting it must be pulled apart. Burns well.

Nice pic too.... This is primo outdoor wood, neighbors will be envious for sure.....

Ditto.

Love how quick it dries, and how good it smells.

I have a pile of this I use for outdoor burning.

I hate that everyone thinks of this as outdoor wood only. I run it in my woodstove. Smells great, burns well, dries quickly.

Thanks guys. Yes. It had a very strong Cedar smell when cutting it. I ended up with 3 Cedar trees yesterday. I never thought about burning Cedar till reading it here.

Nice firewood but the tree makes my allergies flare up just seeing it. Those Eastern Red Cedars are spreading like the plague in Oklahoma.

Been burning 80% cedar for a month now. Great stuff for this time of year.

What is ample trying time after split to burn? Does it pop like Pine?

I give all of my wood at least a year before burning ... with eastern white cedar you may be able to burn it in less than a year. And yes ... it pops a lot like white pine.
