I saw this at HD week ago. Has anyone burned it???

I grabbed a few bags last week. Just poored some in an empty hopper about 2 hours ago. Very soon, but seems ok this far. Need more time for ash, glass, heat and buildup results

There are two versions of Freedom Fuel. One is an all softwood, the other a blend. Check the "ingredients" label. Last year the softwood ones were really small pellets, both DIA and length, so they fed fast. The blend was almost a mixture of the softwood pellets and some other darker ones.

My stove preferred the softwood ones. The parent company also makes horse bedding.

My TSC is supposed to get the Freedom Fuel Softies in soon, and they are $.30 less per bag than the blends they carry... Going to try a few bags and see how they taste to the E2.

The freedom fuel I have used this year is a blend, the bag color has changed this year. They don't burn bad, ash is ok, darkens my glass though.

Sadly, I want some better pellets, but they are WAY overpriced on Long Island.

To be fair, the Pennington are from Wally World

Update, the more I burn the Freedom Fuel, the more I am pleased. Again not the best, but not bad at all. The bag says pine, so these are the soft wood ones.

Can you post a picture showing where the bag says pine?

Do they have a crazy orange flme in your stove? Super bright. Burning hot. They do leave a nice burnpot cake after a day.

Just noticed you have a different sku. Mine also say wood fiber, not pine. Mine sure look like softwood. Very light color, almost like spruce and fir dimensional lumber sawdust mixed together.

These are very light in color too.

I just grabbed three bags of these at the Depot yesterday. The skid had a few ripped bags on the bottom and the pellets that came out looked lighter in color.

My bags look slightly different from what Ranger posted. I'll get a few pics later.

I was at HD yesterday just browsing and saw couple open skids of freedom fuel and Presto logs..
the PL bag was ripped and I could see the pellets...
very surprised to see how Dark they we're... looks like Toasted oats...
never burned any so don't know the particulars about them..

I went to two Home Dopeys this morning and one Lowe's. No pellets. Luckily all three stores are 5 mins from my house.

A pic of the pellets next to the Okie Golds. The Freedoms are much lighter. Almost a tannish color.
