Watching the Weather Channel and laughing at the hype;lol. Haven't seen a cold snap anticipated with such trepidation in a long time, and I just installed my first stove ever...what a coincidence! Stopped by Dopey Depot on the way home from work and picked up 18 more Chows, my standard Kia Optima load, 4 in each seat and 6 in the trunk. Always call the wife after a pickup that she's never aware of, and when she answers all I say is "incoming", and she knows what that means..get our 2 teenage sons ready to unload when I get home LOL! Saw a new brand tonight, Freedom Pellets? Nice red, white, and blue packaging. Was gonna try a few, but decided not to. Saw a few people snapping them up. SO, ARE WE READY TO WITHSTAND THE POLAR VORTEX???

Its already here. Todays high 20 and about 10 inches of s*^%. Good for retailers as the winter clothes are going out the door and body shops now have enough work for months. Horse finally gave in and started to eat hay.

60 degrees and sunny here today.

62 and sunny here today and 54 overnight. It will all go downhill tomorrow as some of that cold starts making its way east.

16" of wet heavy snow up here and it'll go down to the single digits for lows now until it just gets colder! Any one looking to buy a big lake home, reasonable price, no hassles whatsoever!...

I bought some of those Freedom Pellets.

I haven't tried them yet.

I also bought some Heat'rs while I was there. Tried them for the first time today. Love them!!! Big flame. Low ash. MUCH better than the Green Supreme's I tried last week.

3 inches snow,8 during day last 2 days,-12 at night.BUT newly rebuilt accentra up and running in living room, room mode, toasty 70.
Nothing like a good used stove to take a bite out of Old man winter.

I burned a few bags of Heat'rs. I liked them also. I bought 15 bags and will grab more if they get them.

Just looking at the weather and hoping there is some accuracy in those maps ... looks like the bulk of the snow will be to the east of us. My sister and her family are in the BVI sailing. Hope they brought their rain gear as they should be expecting "enhanced moisture"

Good luck you guys. Here In western north Dakota we are looking at lows of -10 good luck you guys with your pellet stoves installed.

I still have to brave the cold after work and finish my install to crank up the pellet stove to cut down on the propane consumption

Sorry you haven't got your install done ... it'll be worth it;)

Meh- It's normal for us to have this weather right now. It's 2 degrees now and forecast to −10 overnight. I just bought a ton of Idaho Supreme Red Fir pellets to try out. Let's see how they do in the 'vortex' known as my burn pot, lol.
