Hello,
I finally signed up after learning a ton on this site. I currently have an Englander 25EP which I bought used. I am looking for more powerful model and am wondering which one of these two rated for 2200sq,.ft. would be better. I am leaning towards the IP because of the single auger and larger hopper. I have read several threads on both but can't seem to find the BTU rating for the PDV(is this a good way to compare?). The btu rating for the IP is 14000-35000 according to the manual. Any opinions.
By the way I am going with Englander not because I love it but because its cheap and I have already taken it apart to replace auger so I am familiar with that and maintenance...
Thanks!

The PDV is an older style with a long history of solid performance. 25-IP is newer, but also seems to be reliable. The IP has some additional features such as an ash tray and removable panels which will make cleaning (regular and annual) easier. Additionally, The IP has a start/stop feature from a thermostat which is not available on the PDV.

I'm still running the PDV, but if I were to look at a new stove, I'd go with the IP instead. The additional features would be the reason.

Both are good stoves and I'm sure you'd be happy either way.

Good luck!
