I was told there is a log you can buy at Lowe's or Home Depot, that you burn in your wood stove and it will clean the stove pipe of all creosote. My question is, is this true and if it is, can it harm your chimney pipe? Should I look into doing this once a year? The person who told me about this couldn't remember the name of the product, but before I look into it, I wanted to get some opinions. My pipe has just been cleaned so I don't need it now but was thinking about the future.

There are several similar products . . . they also make a spray that you spray in your firebox that does the same thing . . . it doesn't replace sweeping a chimney with a brush, but it helps change the really bad creosote into a more flaky creosote which will brush off easier.
My own take: it doesn't hurt things to burn one once in a while if you so choose . .. but if you're burning seasoned wood at the right temp and regularly inspecting and sweeping your stove you can save your money and not use them.
