Another slab wood thread... (and now a question about moisture)

So I call a guy I used to work with up, and ask if he has any dry wood for sale. He says he has dry slab wood for $125 a cord delivered. I'm running out of dry oak.... Being my first burn season, I'll take anything I can get as I really do not want to burn pallets the rest of the winter.

He delivered this afternoon and helps me stack it. All oak, and a lot of big pieces too. Some of the thicker pieces still need to season longer, but for the most part, it's all dry and has burned well. He was just shy a cord, and told me $110.... I gave him the $125 we originally agreed on because I already wrote the check... Lol. I'm thankful enough to have dry wood so it's worth every penny, even though I know he got the load for next to nothing. He cut it all to size already, so I don't really have to process it at all.

Bottom line is.... I don't have a truck or much dry wood. I'd buy another dry load of oak slab wood off him in a heartbeat if he had one!

Okay, so my "dry" oak is about 20-22% and burns great. I'm also burning pallet wood along with it. The slab wood I just got could still use a little bit a seasoning, however it is dry enough to burn, and it burns with easy.... puts out great heat and burns hot.

I noticed when I first put it in, it does "hiss" a little bit, but then gets going and burns well. Should I be concerned about the slight hiss? Every fire I have burned in my stove since the install has been nice and hot with secondaries galore. Need I worry about creosote?
