Hi folks. I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas on my troubles. I've had my P61A for 9 years and it has been a very solid performer. The past 2 days when I have got home from work it has shut down cold and been off for at least an hour. No error codes thrown. Nothing lit up but the power light. I'm doing nothing different than usual. I run at stove temp and adjust settings based on the weather forecast. Would a bad ESP probe cause this?

TIA

Stove runs off the ESP totally when in stove temp mode. Should throw a 3 blink code but.

If that's the original esp then I would bet that's the problem. Have you tried cleaning the esp?

I have not removed it and cleaned it. I have only ran a brush up there. I may try that tomorrow. After restarting it last night it stayed on all night and most of today. I would guess it shut off about 2-3PM which would mean it ran for about 22 hours before it shutdown the second time.
Thanks for the advice. You folks here are wonderful.

UPDATE: As usual the advice from this forum is spot on. I picked up a new esp probe Wednesday morning but before installing it I decided to give my old one a good cleaning (which I sadly admit I have never done before even though I know I should). Stove has been running as flawless and efficient as ever. And now when the 10 year old probe does fail I have a new one ready.

Thanks again. Much appreciated.

That's great to hear, glad your up and running. That's one tough probe to last ten years without a cleaning.

I looked at the Harmans yesterday at a dealer out of town, I really wish I would have got one initially. I like everything I see and hear about them. :(

They are great stoves, but there are many other brands that are just as good. It all comes down to what makes the owner happy and keeps you warm.

I can usually tell when the probe is getting dirty because the fuel usage starts going up. But I am OCD about its feeding.
