Thanks to everyone for this topic. After reading the first page , I went to check my CO detector. It has a date of manufacture 8/2008 , combination plug in/ battery. I checked it against the tailpipe of my car and my chainsaw, not a peep from the detector. New one on the way from the Amazon. Thanks again.
