I had heard great things about these but was still a little skeptical until the samples showed up. Wow! I only used 1/4 of a piece and I'm cooking.
Will be making an order very soon.
Thanks Nwfuel!

Those darned free samples have sucked many of us in . . . even folks like me who thought that the idea of buying something like this in place of free newspaper was ludicrous . . . they just plain work . . . and work very, very well.

Thomas uses the same method a dealer gets a person hooked on crack. Free samples - and then it is all over from there.;lol;lol;lol

They are reasonably priced and it makes starting a file so quick and easy.

I use the QuickStart brand things from Wal-Mart, they are available off the shelf to me and cheap at $10 for 40. I would love to try the super cedars to see if there is a difference but I don't want to just dive in and order a whole case, where do you get the free samples?

Thanks Jags

Raz - if you break them into 1/4's like most here do you are at .15 per start vs. .25 per start with your Wally world starters so negligible. The fact that they work exceptionally well, are made and sold in the USA by US residents and just plain work sweet makes the difference unquestionable for me. That and NO one here has ever said they did not work as expected with most expectations being exceeded made it a no brainer for me. Just order a box and be done with it before the 24/7 burn season gets rolling and you don't need anything to start a fire anyway.

Thanks for the recommendation. They certainly have quite the reputation.

It's My first year using these and am completely sold on them. What a great product.

I originally ordered the two samples and was blown away by them. I had been using fat wood and newspaper.I ordered the 32 pack and just ordered the 72 pack. What i have found especially on cold starts is one puck as I call them some pine kindling and hardwood and I have my napoleon 1402 up to 600 degrees full open in 15 minutes. I let it burn down and close the intake and load it up for a 7 hour burn.Keeps my downstairs 1500 sq feet a comfortable 72 degrees.

I use a quarter of one like most folks here but this year my new thing is to place it over a scoop worth of pellets--bought a bag of Lignetics last month for tinkering. The SC lights everything up nicely but the pellets provide this flamethrower surge that quickly chars everything in sight and helps the firebox heat up faster.
