I have two burn pot liners, one stock, one modified (pics in old post) the modified one reduces my pellet spillage 90+%. I use each one for a 7 day period while my other one sits in some soap and water and then I scrape and exchange....With the stock liner, I get a lot of spillage, around 60 pellets+- in a 24 hour period. And that's in fan speed 3 and air trim in 2 or 3 and feed trim in 1. My mag is currently all set but before that I tried adjusting my slider from almost completely closed to almost wide open and that made no difference. I currently have the adjustable auger cover, guessing about 90% closed.....there is about an inch of the auger showing. My flame is brisk and tall and hot.....I do get a black glass pattern after 24-30 hours....even If I run with the damper wide open. The pellets fall in, they don't get blown out. I did post earlier that my VT softies seem much shorter in length this year and that could be the problem. I suppose I could just use my modified liner all the time...but I shouldn't have to. I guess I am jealous of the other stove owners who say they never get any pellets in their ash bin. Finally, the other day an M55 owner ( can't find the post) suggested getting rid of, or opening up the cover to allow the stove to run at its highest efficiency......Thanks, Bill

Sounds like you are lacking enough combustion air. It's like a carburetor. Not enough air and you get unburned fuel...and lousy mileage.

Except that right now I have my trim tab pulled just about all the way out, ( feed 1, blower 3 and combustion on 3) I marked my trim tab so that I can get back to approx -.16 and can set again with my gauge later on.
.....Bill
