St criox owners please help

That is one of two or three ash trap covers. There is one on each side of the burn pot, under the decorative cover. Your flame must be rather lazy without this in place, since a lot of air will bypass the burn pot. You may have a third ash trap cover that will be mounted above and behind the ash pan. You will probably have to remove the ash pan to see where it goes. My stove doesn't have one, but I believe later ones had the third "door".

Heat seeker is correct. It covers 1 of 2 ash traps underneath and behind the burnpot on both sides. I tried taking a photo of where it goes but my stove is on and this is as good as I can get.

Too bad I didn't see this earlier, would have posted a pic as I had the stove down and was cleaning behind those covers. It is as previous posters have said.

Yup, either side of the burn pot pn the Ashby-P insert as well. If you have two small ash pans one on either side of the stove, you will notice that the ash pans don't have a back. Those covers go on eitherside of the ash pans.
Your installation and owners manual should have them listed and show them in the exploded views.

If it's a Revolution, there is one behind the ashpan as well as the 2 below the burnpot, think the SCF-050 is the same ...........

The manual shows them, but not where they go..
Thankfully one fell into the pan, otherwise I wouldn't have known they were off...

Working on adjusting the intake air damper.
It came with a screw holding the damper closed
Having a bit of a time adjusting correctly.
How open do you have yours?
barely, 1/4, 1/2??
Need a starting point cause I'm either blowing the pot clean or getting a lazy fire..

I'm a little under that right.
How full is your burn pot?
Again.. barely 1/4, 1/3, 1/2
Flame is consistently 3" tall, rolls higher (6" +) on fills, but burns down to 2" or less
Did a couple of manuals feeds to get a good base in the pot, but still burns almost empty

When Iook in through the glass, I can see fire but I can't see the pellets in the pot except when it fills for ignition. .

Bear in mind that the damper will not follow the screw as you back it out - you need to move the damper by hand. The screw is just a stop.

I run my stove on 3 most of the time. On this setting, its quite common for the flame to stay entirely within the burn pot.

Once again.. Thank you all for the help!
You folks are the best!
It took some time to get a decent fire, but I now have one.
I'm tuned close to the pellets and chimney now.
The small pot fire was returning a Lack of fire alarm set on setting one.
I've moved to setting three, adjusted the draft and now have a running stove.
I've always hung an oven temp gauge over the air output to see what is going on.
Been my way of testing pellets..
Curious now what you all are getting for air out temp

212* using a wireless smoker thermometer. I just put the probe inside the front grill. Heat setting is set to #3 on the Ashby-P insert. I am using somerset pellets.

Hmm, now I'm curious what my temp is. Will have to buy a thermometer and test it out.
I had a oven temp hung in front and was only reading 150*
Wasn't believing it, it felt hotter..
Grabbed my infra-red and shot into the grill from the front and reading 215*-248* depending on distance and angle..
Seems like I may have the heat output right now! Whoa!
Kinda surprised that I'm burning a bag in 12-14 hrs @ setting 3...
