Thinking of buying a St. Croix Greenfield 6-7yrs old is it worth $1000? Also they said it burns corn only and needs a conversion kit to burn pellets where would I find that and what does it cost? Thanks a lot. Located in central Minnesota.

There is someone advertising on CL St.Cloud to service St.Croix stoves. Give them a call. Also you can go to St.Croix site and do a dealer search. Corn is very cheap right now if have a way to get bulk from a farmer or elevator. Stove sounds a bit on the high side for our area. Theres one advertised that claims to have been used a month for $1200.

Is the St. Croix Greenfield a good stove?
Can try a search here. I thought they were a bit of a challenge to clean if not done regular and proper. I like the look.

Save your money on the conversion kit. I bought one and can't really see where it makes any difference.

I had a Greenfield for three years… great corn burner not a very good pellet stove. I have an older St Croix Pepin that's excellent… and a really good Englander. Forget the St Croix corn stoves...
