So I clean out pellets from hopper vacuum everything out. Next thing I check connection at control board, everything is good.I turn power on for startup and auger turns for 1 minute or so, then stops. So where do I go from here?Bad auger motor?Stove is 7yrs old.

Have you tried cleaning the auger optical sensor?

no not yet, whats that entail just vaccuum the dust off?

Auger reverses a 1/4 a turn at first, then turns the right way 3/4 a turn.

Well after reading some posts from lastyear, sounds like the optical sensor might be the issue.I vaccumed it off,and blew compressed air around it,and same thing.I have to go to the quad dealer tommorrow anyway ,so guess thats another thing I gotta pick up.

Sounds like your auger motor may need to be replaced. Just had this issue with my inlaws.

Sounds like it may be your auger motor's capacitor, which when it starts to fail will run the auger motor in reverse for a cycle, then forward for a cycle, but not always consistently. A common problem with these feed motors apparently.

Here's a link to the replacement capacitor loom you can wire in, from Wood Heat Stoves for $18 + shipping, vs $180 or more for the whole new auger motor (which includes the capacitor loom as well). http://woodheatstoves.com/feed-motor-capacitor-p-2062.html

This capacitor jumper is for all Quad stoves except the AE. It has a DC motor instead of an AC motor. You may just need the optical sensor instead of motor.kap

Ooops..... I didn't look at his stove signature to see that he has the AE.

It looks like the old MV non - AE stoves (pre - 2006), like one of the other guys who posted a question earlier, had the AC motor, then they went to the DC motor when the AE came out? Too many posts, and stove types, to keep track of !

Yes, the AE is all DC, except the igniter. That way they could have the battery back up for it. And you got that right about too many stoves and changes and posts. lol

After I vaccumed off and blew out the sensor,it didn't reverse at first as it did before,it just made about 3/4 turn in the right direction and stopped.

Did auger jam error code come on again? And there are no other icons on wall control ? Do you know what rev control board you have? And am guessing that your stove is a 2007?

didn't let it cycle long enough for error message to come on.Hopper lid sensor is working, and it is a 2007 stove.030 is the rev board.Has original optical sensor in it.

Talked to quad tech, and had me bypass vaccum switch, still the same.He says that it would be a rarity that it was optical sensor. So I put in a new auger motor and were good to go once again.

Save the old one for parts. Glad you are up and running. Curious as to whether the stove has ever had the control board updated on it?

Wondered as the number you gave doesn't fit any of the control boards. Two years ago, should of got you an SRV7000-456C

Kap, just have to say, thanks for being here for all the answers you give and knowledge you share:)
