Hi everyone, I've had a Pleasant Hearth Cabinet stove going on my third year now and my auger motor just stopped working. My stove ran dry of pellets the other day and when I went to get it back up and running the auger wouldn't spin. I took everything apart and took the motor out and just tried test it without the auger and it doesn't even feel like it's trying to spin. Does anyone else know about this problem with the stove or does anyone know how to test the motor without going through the computer board?

Thanks for the Knowledge!!!

Reading another post and it brought this to mind ... does the Pleasant Hearth have a hopper switch that will stop the auger when the lid is open? Check connections if there is a hopper switch...

I notice this is not the type Pellet Stove Auger Gear Motor common to many stoves that can be bench tested with a patch cord and often can be freed up with WD40.. There are two red wires for the auger motor; wiring diagram shows vacuum and hopper switch in circuit which could be jumpered to test. Also could connect a patch cord directly to motor. If this is what you already tried likely the motor has failed.

I actually forgot all about that switch, and as I think about it I had the lid open the whole time I was trying to test the motor off the board. I will test it again like this tonight and let you all know if it's the motor or I had a mental moment.

Thanks all

It looked like the motor might have been a little bound up. I cut a cord and tested the motor on that and it spun but took a quick second to get going. I then tested it off the board with the lid closed but still no luck. I put the auger back in just to see if that made a difference and it did. So I have the stove all back together and running like a champ!!! Thank you all for the help
