Lets have some fun and post pictures of our pellets.

Post up some pictures and info on pellet brand, how you store them and haul them in, along with amount and price.

Lets see how ready you are.

This will be my first year with a pellet stove. Not sure how good these pellets are or if this is a good deal. I picked up 3 tons of some greenways the other day for $189 a ton.

I am putting them in the basement where the stove will be. I am trying to put them in neatly where they will be out of the way. I should be able to fit another ton without making things look messy or out of place.

I figure it is better to get them in the house now rather than take smaller amounts in when its colder out with snow. It is snowing as I type this. I have a large egress window that I stacked them all by, then used a dolly to take them to there final resting spot.

I can't be leave I have 3 tons and have not even bought a pellet stove yet;lol. I hope to have time and grab it this week.

I bought 6 tons of Douglas Fir back in April .

Im ready! 3 tons of Hamer's and a ton of mixed crap from Lowe's. It is a great feeling that heating doesn't even feel like an expense any more because I enjoy the thing so much.

couple weeks ago bought me 10 ton of "Cleanburn" (mostly Doug Fir) pellets at local hardware store (a one day sale) for $179 a ton. Cool thing is they store it for me in a shed and I pick it up a 1/2 or whole ton at a time as I need it.

should be good for the winter

Three tons of Lignetics hardwood on pallets and stacked in the garage between the two cars. Yep - we still have enough room for the cars. Already munched up 15 bags!

Picked up these on dealers early buy this past June.
5 tons and 1/2 ton from last winter..
all listed in my signature....all sitting on pallets
pellets come thru the removed window into the basement...real simple and quick with 3 helpers.

I have yet to see any softwoods at my stores.

I can't wait to get mine. I am not sure how many tons I will need.

That is a good price. Really nice that they will hold that many for you.

Will 3 tons be enough for the winter, Or are you going to need a refill? I don't have much extra room in the garage, But there is plenty of space in the pole barn.

That's the way to get them. I think next year I will get my hands on a bigger trailer, maybe a car hauler. Two pallets at a time kind of sucked. Thanks for the welcome. Hope to get the stove in soon.

Keep those pictures coming.

Have 3 ton. 2 ton Pure Fire, 1 ton Green Supreme... Waiting to see if I can get more Pure Fire..Misc bags of Nations Choice, Cheat River, TSC brown bag.

I have 7 tons Douglass Fir ( Blazers from HD ) , 4 tons Okie Golds, and 1 ton leftover Fireside Ultras for 12 tons total. All on pallets in my oversize garage. I bring in one bag every day I come home and park in the garage. Paid $219 ton for DF and $300 ton for Okie Gold. Should be good for 2 1/2 years plus. Funny thing is I bought the Okies this summer and the DF late fall. No such thing as early pre buy savings. DF a much better deal. I learned to have a years worth of pellets on hand, and be ready to jump on a deal whenever the opportunity presents itself.image.jpg

dpopps, where abouts in Michigan do you live? I like those pellets alot they burn real hot, where did you get them for 189 a ton?

I got them from meijer, They had a sale sat. I am in mid-central.

That's a nice stash. Next year I will do the pre-order thing when there on sale and get a few extra tons.

but to be fair,

My basement looks like Love2BurnPellets garage. I have over 5 tons, which I ordered from Home Depot. My local HD has free shipping for that amount. At $239 a ton, you get what they have; however, since I knew they might have Blazers, I made them put a note on my order that if Blazers came in, that I would prefer them over the FSUs, which is what they mostly have. Anyhow, when the tractor trailer came to deliver, I was the last delivery on his sheet, and so the last 5 tons were mine. Unfortunately, when they loaded the trailer, I was the next-to-last delivery, with the last person supposed to get 2 tons of FSUs. Little did the driver know because the FSU pallets and the Blazer pallets are both white, but when he stopped at my place, he had given 2 of my Blazers to the lady who was supposed to get FSUs. What can you do? I'm happy with my 3+ tons of DF Blazers. They burn great, great, great. I'll use the FSUs for the shoulder seasons.

I also have leftover LGs from last season. What a good pellet, but they were much more costly than the Blazers from HD.

So, the driver had to take his forklift and drive each pallet a ¼ mile down my dirt road to get to my house. Seeing as he did this between 6pm and 7:30pm on a Friday night in the drizzle, I gave him a $20 and a Guinness, which I made him promise he wouldn't drink until he was back at the store. I then moved the bags, one-by-one into my basement over that weekend. I'm glad now, since I did that when it was 50 degrees out, perfect weather for a little outside work.

5+ tons picked up by the ton via pallet and unloaded and stacked 1 bag at a time in my garage. 1 sweaty late August Friday for 4 of them (somersets surprise delivery to the local TSC; 2 tons at $225 reserved per, and other 2 at $240 per) $60 for the Home Depot truck rental. 600mgs of Motrin for the rest of that weekend....happy now that it's the heating for the winter aside from the February Turman Ton on standby. Best wishes for winter to everyone posting.

6.25 tons comprised of okanagans, trebio and can't remember third brand - they aren't doing too badly but still would prefer to have had Vermonts - hopefully next year

I have LP, so my first fill in about 6 months is oct 1. Then he hand me a bill for about $350 bucks. Then he comes back around 3rd week of December and hands me another bill for $450, you get the idea, the fun never stops till spring. I would rather pay a little extra money up front to save more in the long run.

Ready to go by the second week of July with corn in the hopper and 2+ tons of pellets in the basement, 4 tons total and LP topped off. Hitting the fuel hard today with single digit temps and winds hitting 30.DSCN0453.JPG

dpopps I ordered 22 tons this year. Helped out a few fellow pellet heads an got great pellets to burn. This is a old pic just to show you it did happen LOL
