hi-
second post here, no answers on the first, hopefully better luck this time. I have a Dovre 390 and have been working on a rebuild, can someone help me with replacement rope diameters/size for doors and top plate since the old stuff was pretty disintegrated? approx how many feet will I need?
thanks

Wish I could help but nothing comes up. You may need to measure the channel and then try some sample rope. Try one size larger than the channel.

I would just bring the doors and top plate to the stove shop. Someone there would know just by looking at it what the correct size would be.

I think this fella is correct. If you still are in a jam, you might want to Google "Kring's stove shop" which is in Bechtelsville, PA. They used to be in Boyertown but moved a bit ago. They used to sell Dovre stoves when Carl owned it; he has "retired" but I heard still has contact with the new owners and might still help out there-it's worth a call if needed.

I LOVE my Dovre Aurora and have had him since 1993-I hope that you enjoy your stove. They made some really good stoves, but were a small company that couldn't keep up and what is left of them was bought out by Quadri-fire. Good luck-I'm sure you'll get it right!

Good to see some more local folks here. I am spending Thanksgiving in Royersford.

Dovre is still cooking. They just sold off the US product to Quad. They're alive and running the foundry in Norway and a popular brand in Europe.

Their 760CB looks like a nice heater

Yes, I was aware that they are still being made in Europe, and am glad to see it! The 700 looks just almost identical to my Aurora 700 which is a great stove, and I see they make them "multi-fuel" as an option with a side loading door; I wish mine had that side door!

Thanks for the great info!

Hello, new here because I'm looking for a place to sell a Dovre model 390, I have original everything, manuals, receipts and extras like fan, screens etc.The left front door has about 3' of gasket, the right front and side doors have about 4' of gasket, there is no gasket where the doors overlap in the front, not sure of the diameter of the gasket but it is flush with the lips on either side where it is laid in. It is compressed in when the door is closed by the opposing lip. I bought some gasket at the hardware store here many years ago, I bought this stove in 1993 for $1180.85 with all the bells and whistles (brass inlay etc.).
