leaf blower trick?

The main reason I never considered using the brick chimney for a flex liner. Cleaning the pipe would be an exercise in frustration. You could do it in the house and turn everything dark grey.....

This baby even sucked carmels out of a exhaust fan!

Looks like my green one but mine is a darker shad of grey/green (from ash I suspect.)

It was its first run.

We bought a leaf blower this fall just for the pellet stove. Whoever assembled our pellet vent sealed everything up completely, so we can't take the bottom clean out off. We took the vent cap off, ran the 'soot eater' pellet stove brush through the whole vent several times, then hooked up the leaf blower. Worked like a charm. Used a wire brush on the vent cap to clean it up, and away we went.

Got a leaf blower today, looking forward to cleaning out the stove this weekend.

Well it would seem the leaf blower did the trick. Stove seems to running fine now, we'll see how long it lasts. I need to work on getting a better seal though, starting with cutting the liner square instead of the uneven and angled opening.

I don't think with my bigger chimney I got as strong of an effect though. While I had it running I took a look in the stove and there was still loose ash setting in the exhaust chambers. But with it running I was able to poke and bang and loosen stuff up without it coming back into the room at least.

Cleaned mine today, did a good clean first, then used the leafblower. Disappointed I didn't get to see much in the way of a giant dust cloud though.

LBT works great on my HARMAN insert. The cloud is impressive and your lawn gets a free fertilizer treatment.

Just got an echo leaf blower/Vacuum given to me this evening!! Cant WAIT to joint the LBT club! Its gonna be fun! lol
