Hello I have has a bis nova since the beginning of fall and am experiencing blower issues that I cant seem to figure out. If I replace the motor can I get a uzy5 instead of the uzy6 as originally came with. If so can i fit two blowers under there? Idk if anyone here has done thos with the nova but after surfing the net I figured this is the best place to ask. Motor problem consists of cage stopping and motor humming. I took it apart cleaned it and it ran fine a could days then today it stopped until I turned it off waited 5 seconds themed it back on and its been running fine for about 5 hrs now. Looking for more permanent fI'd thougb since its a pain to actually get to the motor. Thanks for any help

Sounds like a defect. Is this covered under warranty? If so, replace with the same.

I beleive yes its under warranty however. The motor it came with worked less than a year so I don't know if replacing it with another motor fron themis intellegentif ita going to be an ongoing issue and if an aftermarket motor is better then i might invest it that. Just exploring my options. thanks

It could have been just a defective motor. I would definitely go with a warranty replacement.

Did you figure out your BIS Nova blower issue?

I just repaired my 3rd bad blower on our BIS Nova (owned since 2008). I switched to a transflow blower from Grainger, but it failed too. I think its just too hot under there for an electric motor.

I moved out of that house, now I have a heatform fireplace I have the pleasure to get an insert installed.... Probably won't 've able to get what I want for it until spring though. I cleaned the motor and it ran good for the rest of the burn season and we used it a couple times this fall before we moved with no issues.
