Scored this wood, also had a fun day in the mud. Is this oak? ImageUploadedByTapatalk1417287924.842740.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1417287935.626822.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1417287946.406473.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1417287957.908185.jpg

Hard maple, more like it.

The only difference I see with the hard maple I got last year was the middle was darker color. This is white from bark to center with little color change

Was this "free" wood?

There is still another 25 ft left. It knocked down a beech tree too. Going to have to wait a while though until that ground freezes

well, you'll find out for sure when you try to split it.

That brings back memories, my brother and I were hauling wood out of a freshly cleared construction site. We hauled 10 truck loads of walnut rounds out of the main gate no problem on a Saturday, we showed up on Sunday and the gate was chained shut. Not to waste a trip, we went around the gate on a muddy service road and loaded my old GMC High Sierra 4x4 to the gills. On the way out we got stuck in the mud on my trailer hitch. We had to unload half the rounds to get unstuck and then carry and reload the rounds. We were a muddy mess, but we got a whole lotta of free walnut.

Wood is never free!
