The home depot by me has these and was wanting some info on these. I tried a search here and didnt much. They seem to be of consistent size and have a pine smell. I'm stupid doing a one bag bag test right now.

Sorry no info on the Heat'rs. But had to comment on the quote! I'll keep an eye out for them and an eye on this thread for your thoughts.

Not stupid at all, Just learning to be a pellet pig like most of us here! ;-)

My new phone has a sense of humor and I didn't check the post before hitting go. It adds words sometimes. I'm glad I could give you a laugh.

Been burning for two hours. Seems to be doing well. Really good heat. On their site it says it made from tecycled wood products. This bothers me a bit.

Dont let the recycled bit bother you, as almost all pellets are made from "recycled" waste. This is a term used to apeal to the tree-huggers, but any sawdust from either the flooring, building or furniture industry will meet the broad description of "recycled". Burn on ....!

I bought a few bag a couple weeks ago. Burned 1 bag so far seemed to burn pretty hot decided to wait for some
cooler temps to burn the other bags to see if they do better. The bag I burned they all seemed to be consistant in
size. a little smaller than what im used to which might be why i thought they felt hotter just more feeding.

The recycle part doesn't bother me too much, but not telling what kinda wood they use does. One bag down. Doesnt burin clean, my glass is black on the edges about 3" in. I burned 15 bags of somersets and glass stayed really clean. Just a white couting 3" in. Maybe for shoulder seasons,if you can get it cheap. A far amount of ash though. I would compare to 3 bags of somersets ash. This why we test before buying a ton of them. Also towards the end of the test my pot started to plug up and wound up getting a lazy flame.

Home Depot in Middletown, NY has Heat'rs $4.98 a bag or $239 a ton. I just picked up 10 bags to test them out. They had about 4 pallets left. As I was walking out the store aboit 5 people asked where in the store they were located.

My HD had them earlier in the season. I wrote to the company and learned they are a hardwood/softwood blend. I bought over 4 tons and am happy as a clam with them. They are very similar to FSUs. Great heat, moderate ash, relatively clean burn. I like them.

wish I had seen this post earlier today, I would have grabbed 10 to test them .. picked up 10 of the Green Supremes at that store 2 weeks ago.. will be glad when I use up the last bag tomorrow.. so.. so.. heat.. heavy clumpy black ash and the glass gets dirty in 2 bags

Call them early tomorrow to see if they have any left.

stopped in at about 11:00 am today they had about 4 plus pallets of the heat'rs.. outside of the bags was a little wet.. a few broken bags (fork lift damage) and I came across 2 that water must have infiltrated, area near the end of the bag with a clump. I picked through the piles and took 10 bags. Got em home and ran them thru the vacuum assisted sifter, so far the pellets are on the small side, very few above an inch, minimal fines and dust, pine smell as noted in OP, darker than the timber heats.. more bark or different binder ?? who knows.. if more bark that will show up as more ash when I use them and dirty glass quicker. fairly warm today and I still have about a bag and a half of the green supremes to use up before I get to run theses and see how they do.

I threw a bag into the hopper this morning around 6 am. By mid morning the upstairs hallway and the bedrooms was nice and warm. Downstairs the temp. was 84 degrees in the living room, kitchen, dining room (tstat is located) and guest bathroom was 81.9 degrees. Upstairs it was around 75-77 degrees. The stove was on medium. So yes they worked. I am about to clean the stove now, and don't know which ash belong to the Heat'rs or the Pennington's which I burned previously. After I clean and vacuum, I will start the stove up again later. It is too warm right now to start it up. Suppose to be in the 50's tomorrow. I will probably swing by HD tomorrow and pick up 10 more bags. I have a ton 1/5 of GT platinums in the garage for January February months I am running out storage space. lol

When I was up in Hooksett, NH a couple weeks ago I went into the HD there and saw they had Heatr's. I hadn't planned on firing up the P43 until Thanksgiving but it was going to get very cold in a couple days (this was back on the 12th), I grabbed a dozen bags so I wouldn't start on the 3 tons of Greene Team yet (figuring on those 150 bags taking me till mid-April).

Heat was good, not as hot as the GT, but not much ash. Did my 2 week cleaning today (actually about 17 days) and even after brushing most of the ash into the ash pan, it was only 1/2 full. I would definitely buy a pallet of these next year to use for late Nov-thru-Dec and early April, and use GT's for Jan-Mar.

Yeah the GTs are awesome. My daughter grabbed a bag from the garage the other day because we ran out of the other brands I am using. I got to her before she opened the bag and sent her to Walmart, Lowes and HD and told her to get whatever she could find. She came back with 6 bags of the Pennington's from Walmart. HD and Lowes were both awaiting trucks. We used that until yesterday when I picked up the 10 bags of Heat'rs. Tomorrow I will go back to HD to pick up an additional 10 bags. That should carry me through the month of December. I wish I could find the GT's, no one has them not even Lowes, and that's where I brought them from back in September.

I got my GT in August from our local Lowes (Epping, NH), it was the first shipment they got in for the season ( I subscribed thru GT to get notices of when & where shipments get sent). Clerk thought I was being paranoid about getting my supply early. They were $20 more a ton than last year in August( $297/ton, were $275 Sept 2013) , now they are about $360. .

I brought mine around the same time. I brought the last 75 bags. I haven't seen them since. I too subscribed to GT to be alerted as to when they were going to deliver to my area, but I have not heard from them. I think the plant is in PA.

Burning heat'rs, returned four bags out of three opened tons, wet and clumpy. Found a lot of large pellets. Still happy, good heat.
