Osburn 2400's sold out!

Time to plant some trees. At that rate firewood will soon be more expensive than oil.

I think the stove will be worth waiting for.

That's a good stove for the money, lots of happy 2400 owners.

Have you considered just getting an Englander? The 30 is a similar stove.

I think he wants an insert, the Englander insert is smaller than the 30.

Bagelboy owns the 2400 insert. I could be wrong, but when he stated he ordered a 2400 stove- I figured he meant the free standing version of the insert he already owns.

Both the 30 and the 2400 have just over 3 cf fire boxes, steel stove, with secondary tubes, solid construction and vermiculite baffles with 6" exhaust. The 30 is way less expensive though.

As far as inserts go, the Oz definitely is the beefier heating choice, but again if I'm reading his open post he's looking for a free standing unit.

I was told the same thing about the 2400 from a vendor here in CT. I searched online and found Spotix in Idaho. They say they have 10 in stock. I emailed them the other day. I aloso am looking at the 2400 for a house I'm closing on on Monday.

Hi Guys, long time lurker and I just signed up. Just wanted to add that i have a Osburn 2400 on backorder. The guy who answers when i call (Jack?) said they should be shipped in a couple weeks. I think I ordered the first or second week of November. This thread doesnt make me feel any better about getting it before Christmas :-(

get the 2400 you may need the power one day

We got our 2400 towards the end of last winter. We had to wait about a month for it. We needed a big stove, so it was definitely worth the wait.

I have seen alot of wood being cut and hauled and new stoves on trailers being hauled so I think last winter has helped the wood burning industries.

If I ever catch them on sale again (saw them for 599 a few winters ago, but decided I didn't want a fancy new stove at the time) I will buy one as a backup.

Me too. I hope they don't try to infringe on my scrounging

I've spoken to a number of retailers in Ont and a lot of stuff is back ordered this fall. I waited 3 weeks for some 8" double wall stove pipe and when I finally picked it up the dealer said they were doubtful that a number of installations that were ordered and promised in Dec. would get done before Jan. Last winter got a lot of people wanting wood stoves.

There isn't much difference between the 2300 and 2400 in terms of heating capacity. I have a 2300 and it's a beast. And I mean BEAST.

I live in Quebec and spoke to a friend who is friends with employees at SBI. MOst stoves are back order right now. They are selling like hot cakes. Whether it's a Drolet Classic or an Osburn 2400, most stoves are back order. Good for them!

Great stoves made in a province that has been dealing with cold and snow since the dinos roamed.

My friend had ordered a Drolet Classic a while back. He just got it on Tuesday. The date manufactured was November 28th 2014...and he got it on December 2nd! I wonder if the steel was even hardened by then! lol

Just got off the phone with Jack. Osburn 2400 inserts are in and mine will be shipped in the next 24-48 hours!

Hopefully we will be burning on Christmas morning!
