Pellet Problems

We have recently purchased an Enviro Mini pellet stove. The first month it was working wonderfully and now its all going BAD! Month 2. This shouldn't be going on with a brand new stove? should it? Okay where do I begin!!! Pellets are dropping and filling the burn pot rapidly and faster then they can burn. The ash pot is filling up with unburned pellets. The door to the ash pot is ceasing shut! and the smoke coming out of the chimney is BLACK!
The stove is not performing and I am freezing!

Thanks

X2 on the slide damper adjustment. If you have been burning for a month, it likely is time to clean the internal smoke pathways of the stove and the venting (usually once a ton but your manual says every two unless poor quality pellets). Have you preformed the cleaning noted at the bottom of page 11 and top of page 12 of the owner's manual - the exhaust passages? If not, get cleaning!!

Have you changed pellets recently? That can cause burn problems as well as all pellets are not created equal.

Keep us posted...

Sounds like a door may have been left ajar. Did you check to make sure you closed the door and any other accesses all the way?

A/F Ratio is wacky. Not enough combustion air and probably ashed up in the HX passages. Clean it carefully and give it some air. Your car will run poorly with an unbalanced a/f ratio, the stove is just like the carburetor-fuel injection in your car, adjust the af ratio

... sounds like a dirty stove issue.

I believe you that you are FREEZING, you are less than an hour away from me and the last few days have been ridiculously cold around here. At least it warmed up today. Get her clean and up and running again.
