This may have been handled here before but if so I can't find anything on it. Has anyone ever cleaned the heat exchanger internals of their Harman Accentra insert? If so, how? Had mine for going on six years and though I've cleaned it thoroughly many times I can't find any information on cleaning the heat exchanger internally. There is no indication that it is in any way clogged but if possible I'd like to do it.

Suggestions?

What would there be to clean? You clean the combustion side from the fire box. The only thing that could be on the other side is a little dust from blowing room air across it.

I would think there might be some cat or dog hair in there as well. Whatever gets by the fan. Just askin'.

I guess there could be something in there, dust maybe. Dog and cat hair or I can speak for cat hair anyway gets pretty well caught up in the fan on my p61. Still I've wondered about this myself ( in the P61 it's an all welded accordion style unit) and visualize myself with a pressure washer back feeding the thing. Obviously that isn't happening in the living room and probably not at all !!

I don't have a Harman so forgive my ignorance if I'm no help.

There is a video on the Harman site for the 52i that details how to maintain/clean the stove. They show how to remove the heat exchangers and clean behind them. My guess is you already know how to do this so not having a Harman is what leads me to believe I don't know what your talking about.

Go to the Harman site and look at the 52i. There are four videos for the stove depicted by dots at the bottom of the video screen. The fourth dot is the cleaning video. If this helps, your welcome. If not, sorry.

Appreciate it. The front of the exchanger is no problem. The inside of the tubes come up from underneath the stove fed air by a fan. It's these I'm trying to figure out how to get to. I have an insert so no pressure washer for sure unless I want a divorce. I may be able to remove the decorative grille and get a brush down there.
