1 ton per full ash pan.?

I just compact (carefully) the ashes with the flat end of the scraper tool till my next clean. There tends to be a lot of air in that pile.
These Nation's Choice are horrible for ash, BTW. Gritty and dirty, clogged up my igniter after 3/4 ton. Ouch.
