Hi all,
I just acquired a envrio ef3 that had a plugged hose barb going to pressure switch. It now seems to work perfect. It burns very clean and hot. With the damper fully closed its burns hot and I am getting flying ashes/embers every time the auger drops pellets, I didnt see any embers at the stove pipe exit, but have quite a few in the fire box, is this normal??

It makes alot of heat thats for sure..

Yes, much can depend on the pellet brand. What are you burning?

It happens with all the different pellets I've used
As the pellets drop small ember are blown out of fire pot
burn out and 90% end up as ash in the ash bin at the
bottom of the stove . The rest in the ash traps behind
the fake fire brick . That's why it is important to do a full
disassembly and cleaning at least once a year depending
on the amount and type of pellets used . What you see
now is normal Welcome to the forum. You have a very good
and easy to work on stove which should give you years of warmth.

Great I am glad the fly ash is normal. A friend suggested Black hills gold pellets, they were sold out so I am currently running "magic spark". Them seem ok... the last stove I had I ran pellets from menards and was happy with them. I really like the stove, parts are easy to get and manual/wiring available.

I buy, fix and sell whatever I can get my hands on from craigslist. This year its pellet stoves, this ef3 was the 5th stove I picked up, It was too nice to sell. So it went in my livingroom and I live in the city with natural gas. Its nice to have it there in case I get cold or furnace quits. It a duplex so the ef3 heats it up QUICK :)
