T.S.C.pellets in a generic b/w bag?

Hi all,
I was at a local tsc yesterday and they had pellets in a black and white bag it just said hardwood pellets on it. I picked up a few bags just for kicks and to my surprise wow! Holy heat and they burned real clean also.they did have some large sized pellets in the bag but otherwise they were a real decent pellet. Has anyone else used these?

we can tell you what they are if you post a pic of the bar code on the bag.
 
Just happened to call my TSC today and hit same pellets. Based on your observatons maybe I'll try some.
 
I bought a ton last weekend at the TSC in Lehighton PA before they sold out of them. White bags with black lettering, pretty much only thing printed on the bag was "Premium HardWood Pellet Fuel" and "ozarkhardwoodproducts.com".

I am very happy with them, they burn very hot and relatively clean in my Harman Advance. There are a few long pellets in the mix, but I haven't had any problems with them feeding yet. They remind me a lot of Turman's pellets, they have a strong smell of oak and have about the same heat with just a little more ash. Wish I could have grabbed a few tons of them before they sold out.

Ken, did you like them better than the big heat softies?

The website says they are oak.

I think they have a plant in Seymour, Mo, as well. I've burned about a ton of these. They do produce quite a bit of ash IMO, but it's dense so it doesn't fly around too much. In my Harman, that's a good thing. Not too many clinkers either.
 
When TSC had their own brand here in SE Ma they were produced by Maine Wood and were a blend. Very hot and moderate to low ash. Same last year. But they sold out of those early and went to Natures Own , which they can keep. They had Sure Fires softwood blend for a little while, those were good too. I have no idea what they have right now though. Hmm was just over that way today too.

Drew I would have to say yes for sure! My stove likes the big heat softwood but these hardwoods from tsc I just picked up are a lot hotter and a bit cleaner. I'm going back tommorow and picking up a ton of them they seem to be a good one for the colder months.the wife got a kick out of the generic b/w bag but we were very pleased with them.

Mad hatter not sure if your looking for more but the tsc in Washington nj rt 57 has a good amount of them on hand

The bar code (sku) on the bag that he posted comes back to OZARK. TSC has numerous mills all over the country bagging for them, sometimes in generic bags, sometimes not. It's generally regional.
 
I have had good results from TSC pellets when I had to by a ton before a large purchase shipment here in Indiana.

Thanks for the heads up, but I think I now have all I need on hand to get me through the season. Plus, I am still hoping my stove shop comes through with the 6 tons of Turmans I ordered over three months ago.:confused:
 
alot of ppl are talking about shortages and such...kinda odd....i was at TSC this morning, the guy running forklift came by me like 5 times with pallets of wrapped bags..i finally stopped him and asked if they were pellets? he said "yup, and were running out of places to put them..we just got 4 Tractor trailer loads of them this week.." i about crapped. lol 267 a ton though..after that i did crap...lol luckily, corns going down around here. down to 4/bushel now. WOO!

I'm new to the pellet game, installed my stove a week ago so I didn't get in on any early season pre-buys. There seems to be plenty of pellets around Southern New England, the issue is no one has any high end brands. Most are good to mid-range (shoulder) down to junk quality.
 
Yeah, TSC is not lacking in pellets what so ever. Like you said unbidden, the issue around here is finding higher end pellets. I paid $254 for softwoods from TSC. They didn't have any TSC brand at the one in Pawcatuk.
