Officially hit my one tone mark this morning. Cleaned and vacuumed the stove and check the fines box which was stuffed full! What a difference it makes having it free flowing again. Burns way hotter and cleaner and always impresses me afterwards. The pellets used also makes a huge difference in the cleanup.

Bag 35 opened this morning. Pulled two-week burn maintainance on my Harman yesterday; cleaned the glass when it auto-shutdown for a couple hours in Room Temp mode and dragged the ash over the burn pot lip. Took maybe a minute. Restarted by itself per usual later on. Burning well.

Ive got 1/2 of bag #34 in mine.

Pulled the insert out yesterday (first time) and too, cleaned out the fines box. I have prob burned 2 tons or so since install. I too think it burns hotter now. Pulling the insert out was a bit of a chore.

The temp fluctuations have kept my burning time to an all time low. On bag 29 this morning. Usually Into about 50 at this time of the year. Been running my CPM on 1 or 2 for a while. This stove hates to run on this low feed. The glass ashes up within 12 hours and lots of ash is created. When it's cold and I run at 7 or 8...va voom. Like a thoroughbred.

Yeah, pulling an insert is a pain. Luckily I only do it once a year. BTW is that your fines box in the pic? Looks like a burn pot! When I clean mine all that's in it is about a teaspoon of fines. What accounts for the difference? Don't understand. . . . .

Mine looked worse than that, and that was after only one ton. I think it's a function of the amount of dust in the pellets and whether or not they crumble easily from the auger. Using softwood pellets, I think they are more prone to breakdown, but I'll still take that and the heat they throw off anyday! I usually sift the last half gallon in the bag, but I suppose it is inevitable.

Well, this post made me do a count - just added bag 49 this morning. In a previous post about 2 weeks ago, the average was 35 bags used.

What brand pellets are you burning. I am going to clean my stove from A-Z today for the first time. The Patriots are not on until 8:30 tonight so today works out perfect.
I am on around 30 bags of Douglas Firs. It has been really warm up here in new England so far this year.

I don't count bags but am sure I've gone over a ton for the Harman. Started the season with 10-15 leftover bags, prepaid for 3 tons but have only picked up 90 of those bags, and bought about 20 bags of various brands when at WM or HD. All I know is that I have about a ton (+/- a couple of bags) in the basement, and 60 still to pick up from the pre-pay.

Gave the Harman a good cleaning a couple of weeks ago (including fines box), and do a routine clean every week or so, including yesterday.

The St. Croix has had anywhere from 10-15 bags thru it. Gave it a thorough cleaning before I installed it, and just did a good cleaning yesterday (only thing I didn't do was LBT or pull fans - but did take off side covers and clean anything I could get at). Wasn't much behind the ash doors, so it looks like I can go longer before cleaning that hard again.

This year I'm burning Lacretes, some North Country, and tried some Cubex but hated them.

Put number 25 in last night.
