If your stove is now clean you might want to explain the same flame height that Lake Girl is asking about.

First I'll ask if you have that stove on a thermostat?

Then if not on a thermostat, I'll ask if you have the jumper installed on the control board?

Depending on the answers you provide there I'd likely ask you to time the auger as well as a few other questions.

However and this is the reason I didn't pay any attention to the flame height, if the stove is dirty it is also likely that the flame height is so out of whack it is meaningless. An example when my stove has reached the pile up stage the flame always looks the same no matter what firing rate I put the stove into.

Before the Leaf Blower Trick, this is what the manual mentions:
" Check inside stove and exhaust pipes for blockage. Tap inside walls of Firebox, clean behind the lower access plates (located on the back inside wall, next to the burnpot);
clean burnpot and Firebox vent holes above firebrick panel. "

Along with tapping inside walls, many folks use a bottle brush, dryer lint brush to get up between the two walls at the back of the stove through the lower access plates. I have a hose to hook up on the shop vac to get up in there too. What you may miss the leaf blower should suck out ... remember to disconnect vac switch!

Once it is clean, should have a good starting point to figure out flame height...

Edit: Forgot to mention, some of the Englander stove owners (which includes summers heat) have been noticing that the hopper gasket is not thick enough to form a good continuous seal on the hopper lid. This will effect flame as well.

Page 28 number 23 in green IIRC. There is a hose going to it and I believe the switch is round.

Not likely from something lodged at the factory. Glad it is working better, I'd reset things back to factory default if you hadn't all ready and see if things are fine.

That stove (or its cousin) has the record for burning without opening the door on here during a challenge a couple years ago. They burn very well when they are given a chance.

Glad it's running good now. Is the stove working better on all levels now?

Nice Better to have enough heat than not!

What came out, those little black bb's, was the mess of fly ash that was in the internal smoke paths from the last year of burning ... it tends to cake in the summer with the higher humidity. Glad it got all cleaned out If you do this about every ton of pellets, you won't have airflow problems. Let us know if you are still having flame height issues...

Something to keep in mind for the end of the burn season - After your LBT, cap/tape/seal somehow your exhaust and OAK inlet. I also put desiccant in the firebox to absorb any moisture that may find its way inside. You can get the holder and package of desiccant at the hardware - along with refill packages of just the desiccant. Just remember to remove whatever you used to seal up the exhaust and OAK before burning next season!
